Angus je domovem některých z nejstarších a nejuznávanějších golfových hřišť ve Skotsku. Například Carnoustie Golf Links, s jeho legendárním hřištěm Carnoustie Championship, které hostilo řadu British Ope. Toto hřiště představuje výzvu pro každého hráče.
 V roce 1953 vyhrál Ben Hogan na hřišti Carnoustie Golf Links svůj jediný turnaj Open Championship. Bylo to jeho poslední vítězství na turnaji kategorie major a jediná návštěva Skotska. Muž, kterého Skotové nazývali „Wee Ice Mon“, si upevnil svou legendární pověst právě díky pomoci golfového klubu Panmure Golf Club, kde trávil čas před turnajem The Open a trénoval na hřišti Panmure.
