Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick have hosted the Open Championship 37 times on the west coast of Scotland.

A golf holiday on the West Coast of Scotland is one of Scotland’s most historic and popular golfing areas and takes you into the heart of Scotland’s golfing heritage. The West of Scotland can rightly boast the title of ‘Home of The Open Championship’, as it was first played here in 1860 at Prestwick Golf Club.

The area has an almost unbroken strip of links golf courses that stretches the length of the coastline, with three Open Championship courses. There are probably more excellent golf courses in this rugged and beautiful corner of the country than anywhere else in the world.
