Crail Golfing Society Craighead

About the course

Craighead is the work of American architect Gil Hans. This relatively new course has been created by combining modern innovation with references to the history of Scottish golf. Perched on a promontory near Fife, the course offers stunning views of Bass Rock, the Forth Estuary, Edinburgh and even St Abb’s Head, 97km away. It’s a classic links course where you’ll find large undulating greens, historic natural walls and you can spot typical wildlife. There are no trees to restrict the playing area. Because of this, players are not only faced with terrain obstacles, but the onshore wind does much of the work. They are especially popular for experienced players, who have to show some really great strokes here. Proof of the high level and popularity of the course is the countless professional and amateur tournaments.
