Forest of Arden

About the course

Arden Forest is set amidst trout lakes on Lord Aylesford’s vast 10,000-acre estate at Packington Park.
The Arden course, which was designed by Donald Steele in 1970, has been a regular venue on the European Tour and has hosted the British Masters and English Open.

Although Arden is a modern course, Steel has integrated its layout nicely into the natural landscape. With majestic oak trees predominating especially on the back nine, the layout looks much more mature than it actually is. The challenge of the Arden course is considerable, especially from the back tees – 7,134 yards. But even from the regular yellow tees, the course measures a healthy 6,500 yards.
