About the course
The Royal Portrush course, like Royal County Down, is one of the most renowned golf destinations in the world.
The Open Championship: Royal Portrush is one of only 10 courses outside England to have hosted The Open Championship – one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world of golf. The course hosted this prestigious tournament in 1951 and then returned in 2019 after 68 years, bringing huge fame and attention to the course. The Open will be held at Royal Portrush again in 2025!
Dunluce Course: the Royal Portrush course has two main 18-hole courses, of which the Dunluce Course is the most famous and the most difficult. This course offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the picturesque Northern Ireland countryside.
The Calamity Corner. This par 3 is terrifyingly threatening every stroke, having to negotiate a huge hole in a ditch to reach the narrow green, making this stretch extremely challenging for players.
History and tradition. Many famous golfers have played here and its history is rich with success and adventure.
Great location: Located on the north coast of Northern Ireland, Royal Portrush is perfectly situated for golfers who want to combine their love of golf with scenic views and exploration of the culture and history of this stunning area.
The Royal Portrush course is therefore not only a world-class golfing destination, but is also full of the history, challenges and beauty of Northern Ireland.
