About the course
The Kittocks course is a new addition to the ranks in St Andrews. It was built in 2002 by architect Bruce Delvin and is designed in the American spirit, but honours all the traditions of a Scottish course. It is set on elevated ground close to the cliffs, so the site offers a breathtaking panorama of both the coastline, the North Sea and the town of St Andrews. The course itself favours an American style with artificial lakes, but the layout of bunkers and double greens still adheres to the traditions of St Andrews. The high quality of the local greens should be highlighted, offering a year-round golfing experience. Kittocks is the optimum course for more advanced players, but its character and flexibility also make it suitable for a wider range of golfers. The course includes the five-star Fairmont Hotel.
