About the course
Murcar Links is an attractive 18-hole course located on the Aberdeenshire coast, 10 minutes from Aberdeen city centre, with spectacular views of the North Sea.
The host club for the Scottish Amateur Men’s Championship in 2021.
A European Tour course that hosted the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play tournament in 2015. In June 2018, Murcar Links hosted the qualifying rounds of The R&A 123rd Amateur Championship. Murcar Links is ranked 96th in Golf Monthly’s Top 100 Courses and 47th in National Club Golfer’s Top 100 Courses in Scotland 2019. The judging panel highlighted “some great holes, scenically and strategically”, while the overall verdict was “enjoyable, whether in the dunes or near the sea”. The course, originally designed by Archie Simpson and revised by James Braid, is set in classic links territory with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, is covered in heather and heather and offers spectacular views of the North Sea. Playing at Murcar Links is a truly memorable and rewarding experience, with each hole offering its own challenge.
