About the course
With over 280 years of history, The Royal Burgess is widely recognised as the oldest golf club in the world and one of the best golf clubs in Scotland. Our championship golf course, designed by the legendary Willie Park Jr, is located in Scotland’s beautiful capital city of Edinburgh, just five miles from the city centre, and is a prime example of parkland golf with lush, tree-lined fairways, cleverly placed bunkers and smooth greens. It really is a joy to play and we encourage golfers of all levels to share in the pleasure that is the 18 holes at The Royal Burgess.
Our clubhouse, which has recently been exemplarily renovated, is an architectural gem in the Arts and Crafts style and displays some of golf’s most interesting and historic memorabilia and trophies. It is also the perfect place to relax while sipping a refreshing drink or enjoying a delicious meal with friends. Whether you are a member, guest or visitor, our excellent team will provide you with a friendly welcome and professional service.
