About the tour
Angus is home to some of the oldest and most respected golf courses in Scotland. For example, Carnoustie Golf Links, with its legendary Carnoustie Championship course, which has hosted a number of British Opens. This course presents a challenge for any player.
In 1953, Ben Hogan won his only Open Championship at Carnoustie Golf Links. It was his last Major win and his only visit to Scotland. The man the Scots called “Wee Ice Mon” cemented his legendary reputation thanks to the help of Panmure Golf Club, where he spent time before The Open and practised on the Panmure course.
