What is the Old Course Lottery?
Despite the Old Course’s immense popularity, the tradition of drawing lots two days prior to the start of play (except on Sundays and tournament days) is still followed. As a result, golfers who are in the area still have the opportunity to play the Old Course during their visit. This reflects the public spirit of St Andrews Links and its commitment to remain as open and accessible as possible to all golf enthusiasts.
