Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake to open St Andrews sports bar ahead of Dunhill Championship

A major transformation is underway in the heart of St Andrews. The iconic New Picture House on North Street is set to reopen next week – just in time for the prestigious Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The project is led by T-Squared Social, the company owned by golf legend Tiger Woods and music superstar Justin Timberlake. Closed since September 2023 for refurbishment, the cinema will soon welcome guests to a brand-new sports bar and gastro pub, while keeping two of its original cinema screens.

The venue will also feature electronic darts and state-of-the-art sports simulators, including golf, rugby, lacrosse and football. With planning permission and alcohol licence granted, the development is nearly complete.

David Morris, Managing Director of New Picture House, explained that the change was the only way to keep the venue economically viable.

Dunhill Championship brings global stars to St Andrews

Next week, St Andrews will welcome thousands of golf fans as the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship tees off at the legendary Old Course, one of the world’s ultimate bucket list golf destinations.

This year’s line-up includes former Open Champion Cameron Smith, Hollywood icons Michael Douglas and Bill Murray, NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, and former Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, making his debut in the event.
